Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin is it's most absorbable form and is preservative free. B12 is plays an important role in building and shaping red blood cells. B12 is often found in animal products including eggs and many people do not have enough dietary B12. Symptoms of low B12 include fatigue and low energy, cold hands and feet, sluggish thinking, peripheral neuropathy and numbness, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, pale skin, constipation, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nerve pain, vision problems, and depression to name a few. Alcohol consumption can also decrease your B12.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can be confirmed with a simple CBC blood test. Vitamin B12 is very safe. We use a dose of 25mg/5ml which is enough B12 for a weeks worth of B12 if a deficiency is determined. For a maintenance dose, one B12 shot is recommended per month. Because B12 is water soluble it is very safe and overdose and side effects are rare.
